Oz Day in the city

an experience of holidays

Australia Day in Sydney, as in just about every Australian city and town, is a day to get out and about, wonder, discover, explore and reconnect with the feeling of being Australian.

This year on 26 January, I wandered down to Macquarie Street and Hyde Park to check on what was happening. Live music, vintage cars and fire-truck displays, unbelievable quantities of delicious exotic foods. It was a carnival. And all around me strolled curious citizens, visitors and travellers alike wandering care-free in the sun, soaking up the spirit of antipodean freedom and adventure that is very much Australian.
