I'm a Sydney mum and grandmum. I'm also an occasional travel writer. It is really satisfying being able to travel around Australia seeing 'how the other half' lives in rare and unusual places. I infrequently find myself amongst the 'Grey Nomads', a genuine tribe unto themselves. Fascinating, quirky and full of life, they are. This Being Australian site interests me because, among other things, it seems to be about travelling around and checking things out and looking at life from the grass blades up. It reminds me of the book, Outside Lies Magic, which is about the sheer magic in the simplicity of everyday things we miss due to the hasty lives we lead.
